Health and hygiene conditions represent one of the major problems for the target population because million of people still live in unhygienic and unhealthy enviroments. ASSIST has done great effort to try to improve these unsanitary living conditions.

As regards sanitation:
  • 13,569 individual sanitary latrines constructed

  • 4 community sanitary latrines constructed

  • 58 sanitary latrines constructed in Government schools

  • 87 Bio-Gas plants built

  • 42,362 families promoted with kitchen gardens

  • 1,377,000 saplings planted and protected with guards

  • 9,503 families provided with smokess chulas

  • 2,317 people treated with cataract operations

  • 3,297 people covered in dental camps

  • 115,150 children immunized

  • 17,184 families mobilised for family planning operations
