Although Tsunami disaster happened about nearly five years ago,
still thousands of people are sufffering because of its
consequences and they are not able to start a new life. ASSIT
has therefore undertaken a number of programmes to help Tsunami
affected people and to enable them to restart theirlife. A
number of these projects are still on going projects. |

Here there is a list of Income Generation Activities started by
women through these programmes: |
- 189 fibre boats renovated
- 378 catamarans renovated
- 88 new fibre boats provided
- 209 new catamarans provided
- 5,411 families received new nets
- 14 fish tubs constructed for processing dry fish
- 4.22 acres of community fish tank renovated in Ramapuram
