     Sustainable Farming

ASSIST has developed a great number of programmes especially for women, because of their weaker socio-cultural and economic position within society. Through micro-credit, in fact, women were able to get loans and to set up their own activities. This has improved not only their economic, but also their socio-cultural position within the respective communities.

Here there is a list of Income Generation Activities started by women through these programmes:
  • 13,650 families established their own work units and have sustainable income

  • 4,305 adolescents trained in vocational skills

  • One pilot model of cooperative handloom production centre established with 150 weavers in Amodagiripatnam village of Chirala area

  • One salt making and packing unit established in Ameen Nagar Village

  • One Milk Chilling Centre established by 1,689 women MACTS members in Martur
