Since its inception in 1985 ASSIST has considered social
housing programmes a priority among its activities. The
provision of a secured shelter is actually considered a basic
need for people and only once they have their own houses these
people start to think of how to develop economic activities and
how to increase their income. Thanks to its Social Housing
programmes, in fact, ASSIST has gained a special recognition and
image in the society among the poor and government officials and
non-officials. |

As regards Social Housing Programmes the following achievementss
have been reached: |
- 18,026 families provided with secure shelter
- • 7 Demonstrative Community Buildings constructed with
CEEP (Cost Effective and Eco-Friendly technologies)
