Women along with children are the most vulnerable group in the
society. Therefore ASSIST, since its inception, has taken them
in particular consideration and has carried out a number of
activities to empower them and to improve their living
conditions. In particular they have been given the possibility
to access to micro-credit and therefore to set up their own
activity. This help them not only to improve their economic, but
also their socio-cultural position within the society. As
regards women empowerment activities the achievements are the
following: |
- 2,301 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) formed
- 40882838 Rs. saved through SHGs
- 203000500 Rs. obtained as external loans by SHGs
- 1,2908,352 Rs. as Revolving Fund
- 433,700 Rs. granted to MACTS from ASSIST
- 1,180,000 Rs. granted to MACTS from financial
institutions
- 4,671 women trained on Entrepreneurship Development
Programme and supported
- 1,136 women trained in vocational skills
- One Milk Chilling Centre established by women MACTS
members in Martur
- 252 women promoted as Village-Level health workers
- 34,426 illiterate women educated
