     Sustainable Farming
  • For the last four years ASSIST has been concentrating on protecting natural resources and on enriching them for overall growth of rural areas. It has promoted the optimum utilization of natural resources and has generated more employment opportunities for rural agricultural farmers, thus increasing their living standards

  • To reach this objective ASSIST has made use of its agricultural professionals who were trained by FAO to look after the implementation of IPM & IDM in chillies and cotton in the selected operational areas. The purpose is to educate farmers on IPM and IDM including post harvesting methods which are a boon to sustainable farming in commercial crops like chillies and cotton to produce a good fetching price crop of export quality

  • Vacant aqua fields have been converted and now cultivations are taking place and irrigation systems have been created to ensure sustainable farming

  • Finally, training camps have been organised on the basis of the activities to be undertaken and expert services were utilised to impart training to farmers. Selected farmers have been trained in implementing IPM & IDM practices
