Capacity Building
ASSIST strongly believes that in order for development to be effectively owned, executed and managed by the people themselves, representative committees must be formed and trained to lead such activities at the village level. In this regard, ASSIST promotes the formation of People’s Organisations that can represent the needs and aspirations of a community. Once these bodies are established, the necessary training is given on relevant skills and capacities required for the effective management of these groups. Capacity building is regularly provided on various issues related to managing and being a part of a people’s organisation, including:
